Zygote’s New Scholarship Program

Zygote Press Scholarship Program for Workshops and ArtsPass Membership

Zygote Press is committed to making all of our programs accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or financial situation.

Thanks to our generous donors and funders, we are able to offer a limited number of scholarships to our classes and workshops. For artists who plan to use Zygote’s Open Studio after completing their workshop training, we are also offering 18 free ArtsPass Memberships in 2025.

Please apply for a scholarship if:

1.You do not have the financial means to pay for all or part of the registration cost for the class

2.You have a low income or limited resources

3.You have the funds but can’t afford to use them for a printmaking workshop

Don’t reject yourself!

Don’t stop yourself from applying because you don’t want to take the opportunity away from someone else who needs it more. Apply and let us sort that part out!

Scholarships are not just for artists who cannot afford a workshop, they are also for artists who have limited discretionary money or who have to budget very carefully. If you think you might have the funds to take a workshop sometime in the future, but don’t at the moment and there’s a class that will fit into your schedule coming up: you should apply. If you get the scholarship, and then down the line find yourself in a better financial situation, pay it forward by donating to the scholarship fund at that time.

  1. Scholarships and memberships are limited to those currently residing in Northeast Ohio

  2. Please only apply for a scholarship once each semester; memberships are good for one year

NOTE: If you are applying for a scholarship for Intermediate workshops, you must have completed an introductory workshop first (Ex. Screenprinting basics has to be completed before taking Intermediate Screenprinting), or you have to receive permission from Michael Whitehead, our Shop Manager
