Year End Membership Drive
Zygote needs to establish a membership of 250 artists, art supporters, collectors, and lovers.
In the past year, Zygote has made great strides to build on our history of serving the arts community in Cleveland and beyond! We created a new team of dedicated professionals, launched a residency program for artists of color, held hybrid exhibitions, and taught in-person workshops. Our staff artists came out to Cleveland neighborhoods with programming for adults and children. We forged new collaborations with local organizations and continued to build on old ones. And, working hard behind the scenes, our staff created a new website and worked on a new strategic plan that will define our mission for years to come. We’ve grown in numbers, in awareness, and in capacity.
Today, we are asking you to become a member of Zygote to help us continue this work in 2022!
Between now and December 25, Zygote needs to establish a membership of 250 artists, art supporters, collectors, and lovers. Why 250? To finish out our 25 year of serving the community with a strong group of people who are committed to making sure Zygote can keep working for at least another 25 years!
Please help us reach that goal by becoming a member today. Each $50 Community Membership goes to providing an artist in residence with 2 hours of instruction or paying for one week of electricity in our studio. Each $75 household membership pays for one month of wi-fi for our studio or four hours of the staff time that it takes to maintain the presses in working condition. So you see, we truly can’t do this without you!
But in addition to supporting the printmaking community, by becoming a member during this special event, not only will you receive all the usual member benefits, but also:
Anytime a new Zygote member is referred by an existing member, they will both receive one free Open Studio session (or $30 off their locker/studio rent)
Both you and the referred member will receive an invitation to vote on a winner during Zygote’s Printmaking Olympics celebration event, live on Zoom, December 16 at 7:00 pm. The event will feature a printmaking competition between Shadi Ayoub of the 961 Collective, Karen Beckwith of Ping Pong Press, Michael Gill of the CAN Journal, and Liz Maugans—one of the founders of Zygote Press!
Everyone who casts a vote on the winner of the competition will be entered in a raffle for a Zygote Printmaking Party! You and up to 15 of your friends will celebrate with wine, pizza, and making your own prints to take home!
And each of you will receive a special Zygote Membership welcome packet in mail!
